Pipe Dreams

In addition to the walk along the Thames Path, I spent a lot of time mudlarking on the banks of the Thames.

I collected dozens of discarded clay pipe fragments from the 1600’s to 19th Century and formed them into the piece bellow.

I named it Pipe Dreams because most of the fragments were found around old dock location’s. It was easy to imagine the workers toiling and having a short break from their labour.
