Surface Dweller

A soft robotics piece of the lost rivers of London “Surface Dweller”

After witnessing the passive consumption of the Thames as a spectacle, and seeing the water pollution in the walks, I wanted to highlight the similarities between our circulatory system and London’s subterranean river network, to show how we are embedded not separate from the world that we inhabit. The viewer presses the heart rate sensor and that controls the flow of river water throughout a mould of the lost river of London network.
